i got a car that recently had a slight knock at the front damaging the radiator which got replaced then sat on a drive way.
what puzzles me is at first i thought it was the themostat but now im no so sure.
their is water flowing around and both main water pipes get hot, and there is pressure let the car go to 106 degress and the fan didnt come on, also the heaters never got hot.
any ideas what could be the course of this. my mate says to forget it and leave the car but i wish to sort this out as i spent money on some exterior parts.

i have said could this be.
- themostat not fully opening
- water temp sensor/switch
- heater matrix gone
- fan

there could be more than 1 problem but i have no idea where to start.

get the thermostat out and test it in boiling water.. youll see it opening (or not)
Fan switch need to mesure if it gets 12v when hot. disconnect the connectors from the fan and mesure it. if it's not getting the power masure before the switch if there is 12v on. If there is the switch is broken. if there isnt no voltage masure till u are at the problem.

is everything connected correctly?

reason fan not kicking in would be the switch at the side of radiator on drivers side, i used a 30mm spanner at work to get it out and changed it and works perfect now, and i changed my anti-freeze and my heaters started working after it lol
