Racing a mini

Hey all, I've been driving for about a year now and only today did I come across someone willing to race me at the lights
A mini pulled up to me and started revving, the lights go green and off we go, I end up winning but it was a close race! He started beeping the england chant thing and waving at me wildly. I got such a huge buzz off it it was incredible!
Just thought I'd share this news as I'm so hyped up about it haha. Where am I going wrong if its took me a year to come across someone who wants to race at the lights?
(by the way, I wasn't speeding, it was a 60mph road)

a lad i used to work with had a f**k up skoda fabia or some poo like that, we used to call it spunky, he drove round for over a year with no tax, no mot and no insurence. got stopped on the way back from work one day. all the cop said was "drive it straight home and sort it out" no points, no fine or nowt!
