found out the other day that the cam belt has snapped does anyone know what other problems this will have on the engine i.e bending valves?

hi mate yes this could mean that when the belt snapped that the pistons whacked the valves :(

with 8v engines you can put a new belt on and it'll still run if you manage to bend two valves! True engineering!
