Ok so i got an engine off ebay as a runner, fitted it and doesn't start, it seems that it isn't pulling through the fuel which may be causing it, My dad decided to spray some WD40 in the carburettor and it ignites but only for like 1 second.
The 1st fault we noticed was the EML flashing constantly but changed the engine ECU from the old to the new and solved the flashing but it just wont fire. The engine turns but just wont fire and when it eventually does it just lasts for again 1 second or 2
Any help for the morning would be appreciated.
thanks

Well after my Dad changed a sensor he decided to note that the engines ECU wasnt getting an earth because it was just flapping there, he stuck a spanner on the ecu and the body of the car and started :l
So will swap them over properly tomorrow, and hopefully

are you using the right key? as they are chipped to the ecu. so you need the key/chip from the new ecu. otherwise it won't run.

Another Question to someone who might be able to help?
When changing the alternator on a 1.0L does it matter if the alternator belt goes back on with some of the other parts turned, ive heard that it needs to be as it is but dont know if i need to on mine?
Any help?
Thanks

no i dont think it matters cause it has a timing chain and the belt has nothing to do with the timing just drives the alternator and water pump.
