dodgy electrics.

right people, i have some sort of dodgy electrics, it first started with my time and date clock working when it felt like it and now all as it does is the lights flash on it. then it also started to flash on my speedo clocks 
i know its not the bulbs as they would just stop working and not keep flashing for the past couple of month. now i also have another thing wrong, i have the rear black lexus lights and on the passenger side the brake light was out so i replaced it with a new double filletment bulb and its still the same? but the normal light still works on it? what could it be with the dodgy electrics? bad earth?
i have m.o.t coming up and wana get them sorted. i always use kwik fit and they are pretty strict with things like this so i wana get it sorted, any help would be great
