Hello, I'm new here.
Hopefully someone can help. I've been doing a timing belt change on my 1.5TD Corsa and I have a problem. I found TDC, locked the cam and injector pump pulley using M6 and M8 bolts, took the belt off and fitted the new belt. After fitting it I noticed the crank pulley had turned slightly so I turned it back a few degrees to line the timing mark up again.
Fitted the belt, all well, and went to turn the engine over (by hand) - "Ping!" - after turning for a bit the crank pulley jumps a few teeth out on the belt. WTF?
I took everything off, lined it all up again and tried again - same thing!
I am making sure the belt is good and tight on the left side (between crank pulley, oil pump, injector pump and cam) and taking up the slack by fitting the tensioner spring after the belt is on - this is right, correct?
Anyone got any idea what I've done?
Just in case I've somehow managed to get the crank out a full turn from the cams... anyone got any advice on setting it up from scratch again?
Cheers
