Hi Guys, I wonder if anyone can help me with this one? I have a P reg 1200 Corsa B. Everything is fine until I lift my foot from the gas pedal to slow down at a junction. It seems almost as if the throttle is stuck and the car wont slow down. If I dip the clutch, after about a second the revs will drop to idle, giving me the idea the throttle wasn't stuck and that something else is in play. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Mike

For safety, i'd say get it checked at a garage, could cause accident

i had the same problem on my 1.2 8v, its the throttle cable, because they're an grease lubrication type the grease drys out and turns sticky, well thats what happened to mine, new throttle cables are only about a fiver, a good way to test this is to operate the throttle from the engine bay and if the revs rise and fall as fast as normal then you know its the throttle cable sticking.

or it cud be your idle air control valve.....
OFFICAL DVLA DATA:
1414 - corsa gsi's on the road in 2008.
735 - corsa gsi's currently on the road and 436 SORN
Basicly you would have to be a right tw*t to break one for parts
Thanks to everyone for an awsome weekend at pvs!

Re: Corsa B 1200 wont slow down!
Thanks for the ideas so far, keep them coming. I'm working on a night shift until Monday so won't be able to try any of them until then.
When I dip the clutch when driving though, the revs do seem to drop quickly, its just when I'm slowing at a junction I get the problem, when in gear and at slow speeds.

I also have the above problem with the revs dropping... Does your car judder if say.. Your cruising through a car park for instance, in 1st/2nd gear? Mine feels as though it is spluttering at slow speeds! Would be interesting to hear a solution to these issues!

Yes it does seem to do that Simmo500, not too badly mind. When you brake, its as if the car is trying to stall, if you see what I mean!

Yeah mine does that too. Especially sudden braking. The revs seem to dip below idle And then correct it's self! Changed crankshaft sensor and MAF very recently! Baffled. Idle air control valve???
