My corsa has just started misfiring. This generally happens on acceleration in2nd or 3rd gear sounds like I have lost a cylinder though. It is better when its cold i.e. less pronounced. It idles fine at tickover, starts fine and there is no engine management light. Ironically if I give it a thrash it stutters then picks up (although still sounds like 3 cylinders to me).

Could this just be plugs (which I'm changing tomorrow morning) or is it possibly coil pack. Do I not get a warning light with a coil pack issue. Incidentally it had a new head gasket and heater matrix last year so shouldn't be any of that issue again surely!

If it is coil pack any cheap buys online for new, good quality or is it best to go straight to Vauxhall for a genuine part direct?

If it is Mass air low meter would I not get irractic idling at tickover etc.

Well bought plugs but then when I got the coil pack off realised my deep socket was 14mm and not the 16mm required. So put the coil pack back on and drove to the spares shop. Guess what no misfire! Bought the Socket anyway and did the plugs for the hell of it. Must of been some dirt and moisture guess I'm lucky. Let's see if it comes back.

Incidentally asked about a coil pack at the local spares shop they said £97 !! Looked online and spotted one genuine vauxhall one for £37. Something is very wrong with that. Anyone don't need one yet.
