Hi, I'm new on this board and have an old 2000 corsa club. I have a rpoblem with the warning light coming on but it's strange - in the morning say, I'll switch the car on and it'll be fine for whatever is my first journey - no light. Then when I restart it the light comes on. This started about 2/3 weeks ago. For a few days it came on for a couple of mins then went off, now, it comes on after every restart, unless the car has been off for long time, and it stays on when driving, but it does go off eventually - e.g. today it stayed on for about 5/6 mile then went off.
The car seems fine otherwise, always starts first time. I did have a new exhaust fitted c. 2 weeks ago (most of one, back and middle) but I do think the light was comingon before that.
Anyone hear familiar with this? I can't do yon paper clip thing yous all go on about cos I don't have the little silver bit in the pin no.5, and I am loathe to spend god knows how much for someone to plug it in - any help would be greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards,
Ourdayout

Re: Corsa Club 1.2 16v help for complete amateur!!
Hey,
Not sure about the problem.. However I was having a bit of trouble
With my car last week with engine lights.. I spent all morning ringing round for diagnostics prices ranging from £35-£90(ridiculous) My last call was to a mobile autoelectricion who was quite frankly fantastic. He came put to my house, plugged my car in, read and cleared the faults, reset my idle, cleaned the butterfly flap on my throttle... And fixed the problem... Charged me £30. Not sure if youll find one quite as generous
And helpful but maybe it's worth calling rOund? Saves alot of trouble and cash in the Longrun with trial and error fixing!
Sorry I cany help more!

Thanks for your reply. If anyone else looks by, my light comes on but now it is eventually going off after about 10/15 mins / 8/10 miles. If it continues to go off can I ignore it until I get my MOT done in 4 weeks and ask them to plug it in then (hopefully they'll no charge me too much, reasonable garage)

Pretty sure its the coolant temp sensor
Having the same problem with mine right now. The sensor has a blue plug with 2 wires on it and its located (on mine at least) right at the front of the manifold, just below where the pipe from the air filter goes and connects to the front of the car. Unplug it and start the car up (when its warm) to see if it starts ok! If it does then its that.
