Noises with 1.2sxi

Hi all,

For a while i have noticed that when i first start my car and set off, when i press the clutch down it whistles at me, its louder when the car is cold but never completely goes away. Also, more recently, when the car warms up a bit it then starts squeling when i accelerate.

Any ideas as to what this is?


Faily certain it isn't a fan belt, my guess is i may need a new clutch.

i have a squeaky clutch pedal too! My waterpump on my x10xe made a great bearing whistle ladt year when it decided it wanted replacing, other than that i'd have to hear it

could be the bearing on the gearbox, cant mind what its called haha, my dads seat ibiza is like that.

Yeah, i have heard that it may be a bearing, bet it costs a fair bit to replace though

thrust bearing thats it, and nah shouldnt, but if your getting it changed may aswell get a clutch kit at same time. should be about 60 for the kit including bearing, and labour would be about 100 maybe 150, shouldnt take long to do it, done clutches on pugs, renaults, landys, the landy was the hardest well most awkward had to take everything off the bottom to get to it haha

Right ok, That sounds promising. I shall try to find and price up. Any tips/ideas? The cheaper the better as it is basically to keep it going until i get a new car.

Also, do you know what size thrust bearing is needed??
