Hi all!
Never posted on here, but I have just recently brought my 97 corsa sport 1.6 out of the garage.
It has been sat in a garage for a few month now so I was expecting a few problems, number one was it needed a new battery to get the damn thing started. Now I am experiencing quite a few other problems.
It has been very hard to start most times when I get in the car, huge loss of power, kangerooing everytime i took foot of throttle, and stalling at junctions etc. Bought a new EGR valve worked a treat for a few days then it was worse than ever. I have no disconnected the coolant temp sensor and it runs better than its ever run but what damage will this cause the engine with not having this connected? As the new part hasnt arrived yet and I am using the car doing 80 mile per day at the moment.
Another thing, the reverse lights arn't working, checked the bulbs they are both functional but they just dont work at all when in reverse, any one know how difficult it is to check the switch in the gearbox?
Also Iv noticed now that the radio doesnt save its previous settings which is annoying, checked all fuses they are working, what else could it be?
Finally, my main beam flash won't work. I have tried 3 different stalks now, the one I have in now works perfectly APART from the flash, when I put in another stalk its only main beam that comes on and no normal headlight, when you press flash it just goes off completely (like its shorting a circuit) and the other stalk just seems to be random and kinda flicks between headlights and mainbeam! Could I just be really unlucky and have 3 completly knackered stalks or should I have my wiring checked?
Thanks in advance
