V Reg 1.0 Corsa Intermittent Starting Problem

Post by sawdocsfan »

Morning,

any help with this would be much appreciated as its getting annoying!

Over the last couple of days we have been having problems with our V reg 1.0 Corsa.

The battery & starter motor seem fine as it's turning over but wont start. It happened today and we left it for a while and it started. The car runs fine when started, it just happens when you try to start it. When we got back home, we turned the engine off and then on again and it started fine ???

When you stop trying to start it if it wont start, after about 10 seconds, you here a click from the front passenger side area, not sure if that is related but thought it might help.

Many Thanks,

Richard.

does it do it especially when the engine is warm? - if so its most probably the crankshaft sensor - common problem on the x10xe.

Thanks Octane41, that seems to be the case, though, when we got back today from a 20 mile drive, we turned it off and started it again and it was ok.

The other two times we have had to wait a while after a short drive before she would start again ?

Hopefully it is the crankshaft sensor as that seem to be easy to remedy ?

Thanks,

Richard.
