Blowing exhaust/leaks, what to do?

Hi, I have small leaks on my exaust, 1 at the back box where it connects and 1 at the front... (black stuff coming out, the carbon build up I think)

It passed it's MOT last week but it's starting to smell quite a bit and I seem to be losing power.

Do you reckon I should get it all reconnected and re-sealed or am I best off buying a whole new system?

if it has passed its MOT then it cant be leaking to bad so you could be ok just sealing it again but it depends on if the exhaust needs changing e.g. starting to rust holes in to get a new one but its up to you what you do with it

Sounds to me as though your exhaust is gonna need replaceing sooner or later, i suggest you just get new one and save yourself the hassle of fixing your old one until it gets new holes in it. :-|

at the join is there a hole in the exhaust if there is youl have to see what bit of exhaust, back box or middle sec. and for the front one sounds like it could be a gasket. is it the manifold or the downpipe? both of them are easy to do and dont take long at all. if your back box is away get a new one maybe a sports one.
