Diagnostic boxes

Got an EML prob on my 1.0 litre. Took it for a diagnostic check at Kwikfit and the Bosch box said it was the lambda sensor. Changed this but didn't make much difference

Another garage said his box might identify the problem but wanted 60 quid

My question is do you think that the Vauxhall dealer would be able to diagnose the problem better with his equipment rather than a non dealer. The price is about the same

you can buy diagnostic software and cables of ebay that you can load onto your phone, this will tell you whats up, but only if you'v got the ecu light up on the dash like any other diagnostic system,
