No Speedo, Odometer, Cig Lighter, or Radio 98 1.2

Hi guys, first post here, hope it's in the right place...
A friend has asked me if I can have a look at her 98 Corsa 1.2, think it's an 8v.
She's basically got no Speedo, Odometer, Cigarette lighter or Radio and the clock flashes intermittently.
My main concern is the Speedo and Odometer, the rest I'm not overly fussed about, but suggestions are appreciated.
I've read that it could possibly be fuse 18, but have asked her if the reverse lights work, she says they do.
Now, here's the tricky bit. She's asked me to fix it as she can't afford a garage, problem being we're the best part of 130miles apart. Handy. So when I go up there, I'll need to take as many tools as possible as she has none and will want to get there and then fix it asap.
Basically, what do you guys suggest it could be?
I'll check all the fuses anyway just in case.
I'm unsure whether this is one with an electronic speedo or a cable one.
If it's an electronic one (which I think has a sensor on the gearbox?), what tools are required to remove the sensor on the box? If cable, what's required to remove that?
I'll be buying a Haynes book of lies purely as a last resort anyway, but it never hurts to ask.
Anyway, any advice guys? About any of the problems really.
Sorry if these questions are all abit rubbish, I'm used to something at least 15 years older than the youngest Corsa B and have a severe allergy to wiring and electricity.
Thanks, Oli.
