Corsa B 1.0 cutting out - fuel problem?

annoying problem just happened to my girlfriend bout an hour ago gonna try and get on it when or if she gets back lol.
basically car cuts out after bout 40 mins of driving and seems to me like fuel starvation - happened 4 times now and wanna get it nipped in the bud before it gets out of control like problems usually do with these dog turd engines. engine starts after being left for 5 mins
my first thought is fualty relays
fuel pump packing in or bad earth - was thinking though if it was packing in it would either just go or stuggle to start.
blocked fuel filter
or maybe theres no air getting into fuel system causing a vaccum?? this seems unlikely to me though.
any ideas - just wanna see if anyone else has had this problem cause got a feeling its gonna be hard to track down what the problem is.

When does it cut out? Mine started cutting out every now and then as I was slowing to a stop, the revs would drop right down and the engine would just die. Took it to the garage and they ran a diagnostic, showed a faulty EGR valve. They replaced it and that seemed to do the trick, but its started happening again, boyfriend thinks its the idle control valve so he is going to replace it over the weekend. I think these are quite common problems (but then again everything is a common fault with these bloody cars)

Dunno about everything scarlet lol
I got mine for £450 corsa b 1.0 3 cyl 50k miles and it had no oil or water in it at all and even melted a spark plug.........drove it 20 miles without even knowing this at the time.
2 days later bit of oil and water change of spark plugs and a clean and adjustment of the throttle body and it's been running fine for a month no probs. I am not a big fan of Vauxhalls on the whole but can't really fault the little beast does the job. By the way have to say this to anyone out there I got lucky on a set of 185/55/15's alloy wheels from a Corsa c sxi mint condition and 4 brand new continental tyres for £80!!!! Woot. But what a difference it makes over the crappy 13 steels that were on there! Lighter steering, better handling and look great highly recommend for those that haven't done so.
Anyway back on topic sounds to me like the EGR valve or MAF, leaning towards the EGR though.
Ment to ask after the 40 mins any sign at all of overheating?

theres no overheating.
just been out today and broke down bout 10 times. after bout 20 mins of driving now if i wait at lights i can hear the fuel pump relay starting to click and i'll boot the throttle and the revs will try and pick up then die off and cut out. then it wont start till i leave it for 10 mins.
just bought a new coil pack today to rule that out did not sort it. am sure its the engine getting starved of fuel for some reason like the realys are cutting the fuel pump off. am just really stuck with this one.

oh and its not the MAF i unpliugged it and it still did exactly same thing.
also i unplugged the tps last night and to try and get home, and all though it was nearly impossible to drive, it kept it going for alot longer.

I had this problem, my car wouldn't connect to the diagnostic reader so couldn't read the fault code. Turned out the ECU wasn't earthed properly and when the engine got warm it expanded and cut out. Took ages for someone to figure what it was. Check if the engine management light comes on when the ignition is on, if not its the ecu
