Lack of power 2000 1.2 16v

Hi all

Just bought a corsa 1.2 16v V reg 2000, 55555 miles

Bought of an elderly gent, who had done 5000 miles in the last 3 years ( it has only covered 20000 miles since its 1st MOT in 2002)........ the car is mint, only problem being it feels flat as a fart, struggles to pull at all over 40mph, it seems to stutter a times when pulling off or accelerating?

Are these engines really slow or do i have a problem?

Sorry meant to add, no engine management light is on

Try replacing spark plugs, mine was slow Wen I bought mine. But once I changed the plugs it came alive! It wants to go! Lol,

do a compression test and check for any misfires.
