hey, i have a 1997 corsa vegas 1.2 8v with the spi throttle body. The most powerfull car i had was 60 bhp  so i dont think im ready for a red top conversion. I was thinkin about the c14se (1.4 8v mpi sri engine am i right?) but cant find one anywhere. c16se? c16xe? a list of engines and there power would be great and also it needs to be an easy conversion as ive never done one but have all the basic tools and know a bit about cars. 1.4 8v or 1.6 8v . ANY INFORMATION/TIPS/HELP WOULD BE GREAT THANKYOU! oh and im new so be gentle.

swapping from a 1.2 8v to a 1.4 8v is the easiest engine swap to do, as everything is the same apart from the loom ecu and key chip obv but everything else is the same, so that'd be the easiest thing to do, but other than that the next best thing is to just go out and buy a bigger engined car and swap all your stuff into it.

if you fit a 1.4 16v you'l have trouble with engine mounts, and fuel pipes connecting up etc best to stick with an 8v anyways.

Yeah its an 8valve that im after mate. Could you give me a guide on how to swap a 1.2 8v for a 1.4 8v please?!? In detail. So i can follow it step by step? Anyone? And would an spi be easier to fit than an mpi?? As my 1.2 is spi? Cheers. :)

its simple, if it comes with gearbox aswell then just upbolt everything and lift it out, and the 1.4 8v bolts on exactly where the 1.2 8v does. basic straight swap really, and as for the spi and mpi your more than likely going to find an spi but im not sure if the fuel lines connectors would be different... best of getting the spi.

Thats too easy lol. Do i need to swap the 1.4 engine loom and ecu over too? Im getting all this down on paper :)

yep you will, its not hard that either, as its just in your footwell and held to the side with couple of plastic nuts, and then just a plug into the car loom itself, and thats basically it.
