after PVS and the funds have started to grow agen i think its time to make it that wee faster.....
i'm going to put a 1.6 8v in to it, and do away with the 1.2 8v, as theres nothing different at a quick look for the 5.0
wen it comes to big engine stuff i'm useless
so i need help from you guy's
i'm goin to collect all the bits a piece, hopefully grab a few uprated bits n bats, new gaskets and all them bits, may even end up with full exhaust system
i may just buy a full car if i can get a scrap 1 or 1 with no mot or tax etc,
but it not, what will i need?
engine obv
gearbox? is mine the f12? or summit and that runs an f15?
wireing? or will it run off mine?
engine mounts the same?
also any uprated bits any1 knows what i can get?
saw a race cam set on ebay the other week
its obv not goin be 250 bhp
just them little bits that i could get out of it
any help, weblinks, ' Harveys Note book' help anythings is welcome
thanks nath

if you fit a 1.6 8v SPI then it will fit directly in place of your old one, but i know what i would do, fit the 1.6 8v and find a 1.4 8v running MPI and have the loom ecu etc off it and all the inlet system and odviously the fuel pump and new fuel lines, which should see a few more bhp
if you need advice mate just ask as im willing to help

the spi is the same as what you got now on your 1.2 8v, and this is an mpi is basically the fuel rail,

basically yep, i dont know if it would work iv never known anyone else do it, but yea the principle is there as it would all swap straight onto it, orr save up and buy some carbs and a manifold.

cheers mate
no reason why it shouldnt work as the cylinder heads on the 1.2, 1.4 and 1.6 8 valves are all the same so.....just the bottom ends that are different odviously
if you can find a C14SE in something like an early corsa sri, astra mk3 then nick these bits
engine loom
ecu with chip and transponder if it has it
complete inlet system with injectors etc
fuel lines
coilpack and leads with brackets if its a coilpack engine (will more than likely be)
might be a few more bits but not sure
and for the record the 1.6 will run fine on the C14SE ecu as my 1.2 ran on the 1.4 ecu
