Finally something i can help with
I just fixed my flat spot but mine was about 4000 rpm and it struggled to get up slight gradients at faster speeds
I got told loads of things by different mechanics but it eventually turned out to be my mass air flow (where the sensor plugs in on your airbox pipe)
i just got a new sensor from the scrap yard for £8. make sure it works before you hand cash over though, it might be worse than yours.
But it could be your coil pack or your ecu so if you've got a friend with the same car that works properly, try swapping all of these with him/her to find out which one
If its your ecu though i have no idea how to fix that.

i got a new AFM which seems to work well.
im not so worried about the flatspot atm as it seems to not be that bad atm just now it is playing up with hesitating slightly now n then, sounds like it not getting the right air or fuel and car does sound like its running rich at times, it idles rough aswell once warm
