cutting out help?

last night as i was driving home doing about 50 60mph my car kind of spluttered missfired or something regained power then it happened again then the engine completly cut out and all the lights on the dash came on. I tried starting it up but it wasnt having any of it so i left it a couple of minutes then it started up again then cut out. So i did the same again n drove the car when it started back up it felt like normal and its usual responsive self but then cut out on me another 3 times i eventually gave up and got it towed home. I have read many topics about this on corsa's and im confused. I have been told it could be the coil pack. The coil pack is overheating and causing the engine to cut out. I did also drive it all the was upto leeds and back yesterday on the motor and had no problems with it at all its got over half a tank of petrol init. Need to know quick as i need the car for daily use and dont really want to fork out for a brand new part get one second hand off ebay
