the manifold will be very hot. take a spray, which will be resistant up to 1300°F (or 700°C)

is it worth painiting it tho? or just make an exhaust manifold cover for it out of aluminium or something, saves the hastle of the burning paint smell and having insects and debris melting into the paint from the exhaust heat.

I think it's worth to paint. The painting is going to be very hard and strong, so no things like insects will damage the paint.
the paint is a "burn in" paint. it becomes strong throuh the temperature.

Think it looks better than a manifold cover.
