Morning all,
As the title says my 1.7 non-turbo diesel has started smoking badly and has lost power.
Doesn't seem to be any noticeable oil or coolant loss, and it only happens once the engine begins to warm up.
Any ideas?

Try egr valve first mate. If not that could be turbo on its way

I agree with 1pennockA, EGR could be stuck open, try whipping it off and give it a good clean with some carb cleaner, pretty simple job and new gasket is only a £3 so worth it for a few hours of your time.
