Petrol Smell

Just wondered if anyone could help with a little info

I got a Corsa SRI about a week ago but I can smell petrol now and again... It has had an induction kit fitted but it is very poorly fitted, It isn't even a tight seal

They have cut the pipe just past the air sensor and then just wedged the pipe in which isnt even tight you can pull it straight out and theres a big gap and also at the induction kit end there is reducers and everything there and duct tape to try to get it to hold which doesn't work also as that has a big gap too

Could this be the problem? I thought maybe due to the gaps the sensor may think its getting more air and then making the ecu give more fuel so may be overfueling?

Any information or advice will be much appreciated.

Hi thanks for getting back to me, I will check them tomorrow and see what they are like... But yes it seems to be getting to much fuel, What could be causing this? Other than the plugs if they are all ok?

Also as I said in my first post the pipe with the air sensor in has been cut and bodged and has a huge gap there so it could be getting to much air too? So maybe the ECU is trying to match the fuel for that air?

I had a look at spark plugs today and the tip on all four were like a light brown colour, Is that right or does that seem like its running rich or lean?
