Restoring paintwork

YO all, took my car down for a quote on colour coded bits, and turns out my car should be \"Flame Red\".

I was shocked, its FAR from Flame red, looks really dull, so me and mates went out and got some T-cut, if i wanna get it all colour coded i want it all to match (cant afford whole respray)

Part way thru starting on my bootlid (took about an hour and still not done) the guy over the road came over, he told me that if i just poor wax over the T-cut it will bring it right off, saving me time and effect

IS THIS TRUE ?

if so ill go get wax tomorrow and finish the car.

p.s any tips on how to use the t-cut to its best? method, amounts of coats etc

hiya mate i dont know if thats true but i used auto glym paint renovator and that works realy well if not that i did use some stuff made by 3M ant that burnt away the oxidation and brings the paint back to new(ish) but they both r good.have you tried using a buffing machine?that mite save u some time and less effort.corsapaul

think you\'ve just got to put the effort in when you t-cut, its worth it tho, my old nova used to shine

those buffing machines are ace if you get one with decent power, anything with AA batterys aint gonna help

lol, alright ill just give the wax idea a go, ill let ya know how effective it is, like i said, the guy who told me about it has a bright red, very shiney focus, so he must know what hes talking about

Not really a focus cant be up to 12 years old

the owner before hi might of really looked after it

Wash, sponge, try to get every last bit of dirt off

Auto gylm paint renovator and work that elbow!

then something like turtle wax with colour (IE red in your case)
seems to really help on mine

my heart goes out to you dude, mines flame red and its a B**** to keep perfect

i have this problem aswell though can never get my corsa looking flame red always looks pinky red
.
aye i thought autoglym aswell mate autoglym shampoo + super resin polish + extra gloss protection makes it look nice and red ive heard, ive also heard that t cut colour magic is good aswell

i bort the auto glym kit from halfrauds cost 40quid and that was realy good came with evry thing in it.maguires polish is realy good but quite expensive gives a good shine.mines silver so it always looks clean but gets dusty easy

its looking pretty good upto now, pretty much done the whole bootlid, ill never get it perfect flame red, but its the closest im going to get.

Mei wax is what im using, Â£10 for a really small bottle, but very effective imo, good choice of wax

to bad my car wasnt looked after very well before i got it, since sorting the paint ive noticed loads of things that;ll need touching up, rust on the roof by the winsheild, that\'ll need sorting asap.

better just using 3m g3 compound its a bit of work but gives a great effect when you finish the dull red tunrs to nice shiney red
