Hi all!
I posted here a while back regarding a starting problem with my 1.0 12v. To cut a long story short, when I come to the car in a morning, and start her straight up.. If I rev the engine it's like something is 'sticking'. The revs Wont go above 3 k and it's very 'chokey' trying to rev it. Sometimes after revving a bit they dip right down to about 400rpm Abd EML lights up too. Then After 5-10 revs it 'unsticks' and revs right through perfectly(depending on weather conditions and temperature - for some reason it's worse when damp or cold.) really don't know what this could be!! However... I have recently established that when I get in the car, if I turn ignition on, but don't start the engine, and press my accelerator I get a fairly loud buzzing noise which I'm sure is coming from under the drivers side. I do this again 5-10 times until there is no buzzing when I press the accelerator - then start the car and everything is fine! So I have established it is something to do with the buzzing as to why it chokes and won't rev in a morning!! But what is it???
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!
Thanks guys!
Mark

Anyone? Also there's a strong smell of fuel in the car? Don't know if this is anything relevant. Cheers!

try having a look at your idle control valve.
OFFICAL DVLA DATA:

Basicly you would have to be a right tw*t to break one for parts

Could this be the issue? Is there an easy check to see if it's working correctly? Thanks!

yh it could be it controls the throttle body at idle. but then it cud be another 101 things aswell.. if your eml has been on chances are theres a fault code stored, easist way is to get it put on a diognostics machine or try the paper clip test and see if anything comes up, not sure if u can do it on a 1.0 12v thou,
