corsa 1.7 flat diesel

Hi was just wondering my diesel corsa has the clocks in that just have the speedo and no rev counter saying that i have some clocks with a rev counter out my old petrol corsa i know the diesel rev counter is diffrent but would the petrol ones work if i put them ones in my diesel cheers.
