hi guys as you may have noticed i am having difficuy with my 1.0i 12v and i have a sneaky feeling that its the inlet manifold as the mechanic mentioned something about it (after he fitted the starter I THINK HE DAMAGED IT) anyway i looked in the manual and all symptons the same thing came up in fault finding there may be a leak on inlet manifold.
so my question to you all is How do i check for a leak and how easy is it
would hope for a quick helpful reply
cheers in advance guys

Re: cheak for leaks on inlet manifold
try your best to locate the leak by ear and then spray wd40 around the inlet manifold with the engine running and see if the engine dies, if it does then you have a leak.
also you can try taking the induction off and cover the intake slightly and see if you are getting a hissing noise anywhere.
also check your choke mechanism.
