1.0 12v trouble,possible sensor failure,runs lumpy when war

hiya guys,got a corsa b 1.0 12v,engine managment lights on,had it in at the garage,put 3 diagnostic machines onto it,none of them are picking up fault codes.Engine runs sweet as a nut first thing in a morning but as ive been driving it for a while it looses power,jumps and judders around,and the occasional cutting out,the temperature gauge doesn't rise,as though its over heating,it just stays at normal operating temp.
the eml is on from the second you turn the key,but as i say runs sweet when the engines cold...again not picking up any codes. :shocked:
cam and crankshaft sensors have been replaced,but still no joy
im well untruly lost and not sure what to try next
any help is appreciated,need the car running reliable as possible as im due to start an aprenteship about 30 miles...one way

Sounds like Air flow meter or EGR valve both common issues. The EGR valve gets clogged up over time with Carbon.and can cause rough running I would look at that first there is a write up on these forums on how to clean them just make sure you order a new EGR gasket first as this will need to be replaced cost around £5. after fitting it back make sure you have left the battery disconnected while doing so for a few hours to clear any EML that might have been there.

Sounds quite similar to problems we experienced on ours. Went changing loads of sensors cleaning and servicing engine parts untill garage recommended changing out ecu which turned out to be at fault. These arnt to costly to change if you get a second hand one. These ecu are mounted on the side of the engine, what were they thinking?

Also forgot to mention crankshaft sensor these often go on these if you havent all ready replaced it. When it cuts out does it start right away or sometimes does it need a bit of persuasion.

takes a bit of persuasion,i.e acceleration pedal has to be held flat to the floor

not since the valve replacment,that was the problem before this one,my mates auntie works at a local garage,i asked her to plug her tech2 machine in,it picked up the fault of 'throttle position sensor',took the car back to the garage where i bought it from (he also did the valve replacment,as 2 of the 12 valves where bent) he popped the bonnet and found the wire for the throttle sensor,(which the tech2 had picked up) to find the wire wasnt even connected
plugged it back in EML went out,car now runs a lot better but still not 100%,for example when the car heaters are on full,a strong smell of petrol can be smelt inside the car,and there's no throttle response
, my sister's fiesta does that too so not too sure on that problem
ive got a spare week this week so going to do a full service,including pollen filter,simply because i dont have a clue when the car was last serviced,cant do any harm

this sounds like low compression to me. why were the valves bent? becuase the timing chain slipped only way that could have happened. what mielage is the engine. i would guess also that it will have low compression due to piston ring wear. is it burning oil.

hi thanks for the reply,no idea why the valves bent,went to go and meet a mate a few miles away,coming home,evreytime i dipped the clutch and braked,the car just cut out,was really annoying at traffic lights,junctions,and roundabouts,the car is running 10x better now,i have a mate who's auntie works at a garage,i asked her to have a look,she plugged in her tech2 machine and it came back with throttle posistion sensor, i left that garage,and went to the guy who i bought the car off,and also replaced the valves,i told him what the tech2 had said,he popped the bonnet and had a look where the sensor was,and found the wire for the TPS,which wasnt connected to anything! he plugged it back in,that knocked the EML off,anyways,since then i have replaced the lamba sensor,cleaned the throttle bodie,and give the car a service,it runs a lot better but still not 100% ..... for example,will be driving along the road in second gear,SOMETIME'S when i lift my foot a tiny amount off the throttle it will take off like a rocket,have to change up into third because it will be screaming it bo*locks off and where back to stage 1 ,i.e foots flat to the floor,and its not hardly moving,ive noticed if i take the car out of gear,handbreak on,steady the revs for a few seconds,the car will shoot off,and have full power for a few minutes,but eventully i'll be back to stage 1,hardley no power and having to change down all the time,and on hills ect ill have to have the car revving its bo*locks off in first gear,to get it revving high,so theres some sort of power there for 2nd gear.
car has done 70 odd K miles on a v reg,no,not buring oil,friends keep saying they can smell fuel,i never had done,until today where i met a few mates in a car park and had to reverse to let a motorhome out ( my window was down) .... no EML's are one,just a lack of power...it will eventully shoot off,changing up a gear will leave me back to stage one...a continuouse annoying cycle
