Hi, i have a combo 1.7 diesel, yesterday i adjusted my clutch cable as it needed tightening up abit and whilst i was at it i decided to clear the gunk from around the battery with some hot/boiling water, done this on all my vehicles etc and its been fine. set off for a drive in it and 5 mins down the road i seen steam/smoke coming from that side of the bonnet and then my speedo stopped working. Pulled over couldnt see anything, was probably the water just drying off. ive checked the fuses and all seems well, anyone know what else it could be? im pretty sure its the same on a corsa? thanks in advance, Tom

never had it in tbh. only just noticed that the miles has stopped going up aswell and when you reset the km gauge thingy that doesnt work also, so i need fix this asap now. the fuel and temp gauges work fine though. Not sure what it could be.

plug somet in the fag lighter to see if it works. if it doesnt the fuse has gone. the speedo and fag lighter are on the same fuse.
