faulty oxygen sensor.. maybe?

bit of a long one this but i'll try to give as much info as i can.
i bought this car a year ago, it had a few probs and ive changed the egr valve (which was giving an engine management light warning) and a new air flow meter, which was causing appaling running.
I'm currently looking to sell the car but over the last couple of weeks i've notices a flat spot/hesitation at arounf 1800 rpm.. doesnt seem to do it in first gear but it does in the others. This has been slowly getting worse. Yesteday i've noticed that it seemed to be taking a bit longer to start than normal.. infact using the car yesterday at one point i didn think it was going to start.
I've just got the feeling that things are slowly getting worse... thats its going to beak down any day.
So whats your thoughts?
seeing hows last year its already had afm and egr.. could it be the oxygen sensor? i know the oxygen sensors tend to control fuelling up to a certain rpm, is it possile itso n its way out and causing the flat spot. Also would a duff O2 sensor cause starting problems??
Or am i looking at another new maf?
any thoughts before i go and buy new ones of each?
