My fuel pump has been whining for about a week and today i noticed a few drops of fuel on the floor.

Is a fuel leak whats causing the pump to whine or is it something else?

I've just been on hands and knees is sodding ground but i couldnt see any drop from anywhere, so i dont know if its a knackered fuel pump and a leaking fuel line
or just a leaking fuel pump

well it wouldnt matter if its a leaking fuel pump as thats inside the tank, it might be leaking where the fuel filter connects as thats just behind the drivers door i think? what you mean its been whining? if the engines running it will make a noise lol

I did fit a fuel filter so it could be that, i'll have a check on that

And i did fit the fuel filter the right way round before you ask :L

But i got a few mechanic mates and they've all said the fuel pump is what's whining and i have been running my car low on juice because i wasn't working for 2 weeks.

I know it normally makes a noise but it's quite a loud whine and it's only on occasions that it does it.

Just checked by running my hand around fuel filter and where it connects, no liquid or smell of fuel on my hands

Also ran my hand along the fuel line that goes the length of my car and same story, nothing there
