Car stalling HELP!

Hi everyone,

I have a 1997 Vauxhall 1.2 Corsa, on almost every occasion upon filling the petrol tank (either full or some way up) , I go to put my foot down and the car often stalls; it also stalls often when slowing down at traffic lights; however using high revs seems to combat this' but when it stalls it takes full throttle and lots of trying before it restarts.

It also dies if I use full throttle when pulling away; i've tried keeping the ignition on for a while before trying it and it doesnt make a difference; any help is appreciated. Again; it's often fine under light throttle but anything else it just dies.

Hope someone can share some knowledge!

Thanks :)

it could be the mass air flow meter. i had to get mine replaced when my car kept slowing down with full throttle. or you could try disconnecting the battery for about 35 minutes to reset the strategies in the computer and see if this solves the problem :-)

It's not like slowing down with full throttle; it's just not bringing the revs up with full throttle; it's like i'll press the pedal slightly and it'll rev up gradually; but if i went to full throttle it'll just drop the revs really low and sometimes cut out; i'll disconnect the battery now and look into the air flow meter :D , thanks for the advice! :)

Hey guys;

i've also been advised that it could be a CTS (coolant temp sensor) involved with the ECU, any idea where i'd find that on my corsa?
