Help!!!

Right guys, when I'm stopping or put my clutch down as I'm moving (coasting) my revs drop all the way down to 500rpm or lower and my engine sounds like its going to stall but doesn't...
I have reset my ecu (left negative side off te battery for about an hour) and when I put it back on the problem stopped and for 2-3 trips in the car it was fine but then the last time I went out in the car the problem came back
really irritating me because I just don't understand what it is...
Someone please help me!!!
