Hi guys i own a vectra 18xe and i have come to ask you guys for some advice please.
The vec is currently running 256mm standard front discs on a 4 stud hub and i want to upgrade them to the 288mm drilled and grooved which ive got which are 5 stud. My intensions are to redrill the 288 discs to fit my 4 stud.
I have covered all my options but ideally i dont want to get rid of the rims..lmf do a conversion upgrade kit but even they send them off to be re-drilled and a local company want £150 to re-drill just the fronts at my responsibility.
So if there is any advice or just generall feedback you could give me i would be much appreciated as i am aware this is a mod you guys have done in the past with the v6 lump

aparently fiat turbo brakes are same as vauxhall turbo brakes and they are already a 4-stud pattern, you'l have to google it to confirm it, but they should fit, but if you marked all the holes out yourself on the discs theirs no reason why you couldnt drill them yourself.

its not the 1st time someone has mentioned fiat turbo ones on my forum..theres a discussion atm as some say yes they do some say thried and dont..i already have the 288 vectra discs so ideally cost wise and as i have the facilites to drill them be rude not too.

whats your opinion on the disc being weakend with re-drilling ??

well havent thought about it that way as in being weakened but its been done LOADS of times and never heard of any smashing, and best thing to do is go to a local motor factors and ask for one fiat disc and one vectra disc and measure them with a vernier caliper and see what ACTUAL differences there are. i cant see there being that much,

seems the fiat ones are thicker

have got the template and a spare disc sorted so im gonna do it myself as i also have the caliper and carriers so for a freebie be rude not to do it..just looking at options and feedback
