When ever i put it on its flashing protect, anyone know why?

maybe a password? check manual for the number. if not there will be a reset button on the back, try resetting it to see if that helps

if you have no luck go back to the person/place you got it from

Yes definately security feature, have you wired it up correctly, check that and also as mentioned, look in manual/instructions.

Found out

its because a wires touching the chassis

head unit problem...
