Corsa 1.0 12v models, info needed, suggestions

Post by combomofo »

Hello, im after some information on the 1.0 12v corsa's as im thinking of getting one as soon as i sell my combo van. basically i dont need my van anymore now as i have given up fishing and focusing on my motocross, i have a trailer so van is no longer nessercery. Ive been browsing about and noticed that there is quite a number of different trim types.

Opinions wanted on the little 1.0. Ive got to keep insurance etc down and my family has always had vauxhalls and i have enjoyed my combo. I need a run about but i wouldnt mind simple things like a rev counter and maybe standard immobiliser etc. would i be best going for the 1.0 over the 1.2 8v?

thanks, Tom

the 1L does have more power than a 1.2 8v and you can get them with rev counters and power steering lecky windows etc etc but they are prone to sensor failures and things. the 1.2 8v's are decent engines they're really strong and theirs hardly anything to go wrong with them sensor wise compared to the 1L but its slightly down on power compared to the 1L but they're good strong engines IF THEY'RE LOOKED AFTER oil, water, cambelt etc i used to hit the limiter in mine every day and lasted for ever until i got another car. and it has decent poke for a 1.2 aswell. but as to which one to get is down to you. the 1L had more electrical problems than the 1.2, but the 1L does have more power than the 1.2 .

ive got a 1.0L 12v Breeze and its a great little car. i use it everyday for work (works out as 160 miles a week) ive had it for over and year and not a thing has gone wrong with it, not even a hint of a fault. great little car and for a 1.0 its not to shabby :) only downside is it doesnt have lecky windows and an immobiliser.

thanks for the replys. Im definatly considering one. I just need a small, cheap, reliable car lol. I would be getting another punto but its abit more on insurance and i need to save ever penny!! do you reckon the 1.0 could pull a trailer with not too much strain on the engine?

shouldnt be too bad really. you'll find you'll have to put your foot down a lot of the time but a 1.0 should work :)
