Your Help Needed with a new to me Corsa B.

Hello everyone.
I've recently purchased a 2000 SXI 1.2 Corsa and I have a few issues that I hope can be resolved via this forum, I'll list them and if anyone can help I'd be very grateful, I've not got a manual or handbook yet either.
  • The MFD is dim on the right hand side. (I've replaced the bulbs/leds, no change)

The MFD goes out when I switch on the headlights. (I've checked the brightness control and that makes no difference. Following a previous thread I snipped some of the wires on the back of the MFD but that made no difference either, perhaps I snipped the wrong one?)

I'm pretty sure the EGR valve is duff, when I first drove her it was quite bad, felt like I was dipping the accelerator quickly. I took the valve off and following a previous thread cleaned the valve, once replaced the problem has become less pronounced but still there.

The drivers seat squeaks like a good un', really annoying.

I've used pins/keys but can't remove the Grundig SC323 system.

What is the pull knob on the headlights for?

Can I easily replace the airbag/steering wheel cover, as the horn buttons are worn away?
I didn't pay much, she's done 92k and the motor seems sweet, as long as it's just the EGR valve, which I can change easy enough.

Oh.. and if I get an air lock in the cooling system, is there an easy way to bleed it?

Here's hoping you can help.
Thank you in advance.

hey buddy, only a little advice, you can blank off the EGR valve by crimping the pipes and welding them closed or as you said just change it altogether, the pull knob is for the interior light, does it work?? your steering wheel cover, i have noticed your other post you may have to change the complete item, so its up to you if you want to keep it standard. but remember to keep the standard one for the MOT otherwise it will fail on the air bag warning light which if you decide you want an aftermarket wheel there are adapters to attach that turn it off between MOT's ect. Air lock in cooling system, the bleeding point for the X12XE engine you have should be on the thermostat housing which should be a hex drive fitment.
hope this has helped buddy :)

Cheers Nick, your responses are much appreciated.
I've ordered another EGR so fingers crossed on that, if / when it fails again I'll blank it off.
Airbag cover, I guess I'll leave it, too much hassle, hoped it was just a pop off cover.
Air lock, I'll sort that when I change the EGR. Interior light....hmmm, no I don't think it does work off the switch, it works when the doors open though.

If anyone can help with the MFD and radio issues....please help, they are bugging me. lol

Oh...and there are no management lights on, does this mean it won't be my EGR valve?

Ok, got the dash off, not a happy bunny...no bulb in the EM! Been taken out at some stage....wonder why that would be??? :(
Anyways, I can't start the engine at the mo cos I'm still waiting for my EGR blanking plate to arrive.
