map sensor? HELP

hi i recently converted my 1.2 8v corsa b to a 1.6 16v from a 1993 gsi i belive (none ecotec version) i got the loom with the engine but it never had a map(manifold absolute pressure sensor) sensor plug. its the gree 3pin plug tht plugs in next to the water bottle. does any1 no if it was ment to be there? i have looked through the haynes manual and from what i cn see it should have it.
