mayo indicates head gasket faiure, is there a new ticking sound when you rev? thid would indicate the head gasket is blown in one area possibly between pistons other than that i not quite sure.

dont think mayo is HG on 8v's its very common, i had mayo for 4years's and ran sweat as a nut no problem's

right buy the sounds its either over fueling or or has a bent valve,

had cambelt recently? if yes it timed right?
temp sensor working? only way to check it change it
lambda ok? prob throw eml if ticking over or at stead speed and go off after
crank sensor? should throw eml tho
coil pack? or dizzy depending what its running
hope one fixes it wont cost much on a 8v

Had this on my C14SE, throttle position sensor. Official Opel mod is to remove the three way connector in the TPS cable (not the one IN the TPS) and solder them instead.
