Mass Air Flow Sensor...is it or isn't it?

I ran the OP-COM diagnostics on my Corsa B and it showed that my Mass Air Flow Sensor was giving a low voltage.
I purchased another off eBay but that gives the same results, the guy I bought it off insists that there is nothing wrong with it and that it must be something else.
Could this be the case? I have reset all the error codes but it keeps coming back with the MAFS.

what voltage are you talking about pin 5 is the signal voltage should be 1.5 volts at idle and on wide open throttle abut 3,5 to 4 volts

The part wasn't new but off a broken car and is a genuine part.

For the most part the car runs fine just every now and then (rarely) it seems to miss a beat. When I first got the car it was very bad but I put a EGR blank plate in and that seems to have pretty much cured it except for that very intermittent blip. Difficult to describe but a (micro) split second of engine power dropping.

After my first run of any distance....300+ miles I noticed a few more things that might throw some light on the subject to you of the knowledge...

The little 'blip' seems to happen more when the car is under load, say going up hill and if i drive fairly hard, over 70 the engine management light goes out as soon as I decrease acceleration the light comes on again....???

Any ideas please?
