Can't stop exhaust from leaking!

I bought myself a straight through the other day and last night I tried to fit it... It wouldn't slide over the pipe coming from the flexi so I did a bit of modifying to both ends so that it would go over one another, I then puttied it up and tightened a clamp onto it but it didn't seem to seal it so I put another clamp on it and it worked better but I still think its leaking... With the back box it's leaking like I don't know what! I puttied it all up and put the clamp on it but it still leaks... I'm not sure if I used enough putty on the right part and I'm not sure what size the clamps are supposed to be either... So my questions are:
What size clamps do I use for the centre section and for the backbox on a 1.0?
Where should I be putting the putty to create a air tight seal?
How do I clamp it all together so it's tight enough so it won't leak?
Is there anything else that could be used instead/or with exhaust putty to make it a better seal?

When you are sliding it over each other it should be quite tight. Did you definitely get a de-cat pipe fort a 1.0? And make sure you twist it inside pretty tight as it will go in halfway and then you have to proper force it in or else it will leak. Make sure you wd-40/carb cleaner the pipes and use wirewool or something like that to clean any carbon deposits off that will prevent the pipes from sliding over. Exhausts are fiddly lol.
Don't use too much putty because it solidifies and if there are lumps built up inside they will flake off/cause minor blockage.
I'm a novice so if I have made any mistakes forgive me.

Think you posted on this on all corsa?
I did give it ago tonight and everything is really tight and doesn't seem to be blowing any more... But it makes a horrible raspy noise which I think it shouldn't sound like that, it's not a de-cat it's a straight through so no centre silencer... Any reason why it would be so raspy? Doesn't sound nice at all! Thinking ive wasted £40...

Yeah I probably did
I'm on allcorsa most of the time but it's blocked at work so I just use others like this that isn't lol. I'm addicted haha.
Right, unfortunately It will be raspy. I have never recommended a straight through to anyone especially with a 1.0, because the center box and cat make it "clean" I don't mean in emissions wise but in terms of sound. Sounds not deep but annoying like a mini moto.
What I have done is kept cat and center box on and de-restricted the airbox and drilled it too on the wing side of it so it has more cold air to suck on and stuck a universal exhaust on or any other sportex exhaust will do. It sounds deep, nice and smooth.

done a bit of research and my front pipe is completely different to one that should be on a 1.0 ... i think the last person must have had a different one put on or f**k about with it... so getting one tomorrow to swap it over
the cat is second hand and got a receipt
its only just over a year old (no too bad) so using this system will it sound okay?
Cat, Straight through, Standard backbox?
Been searching google but nothing really helps!
anyone got any info?
