Hi guys,
I am replacing my x12sz engine with a x14xe by the means of a straight sub frame drop.
Is there any obstacles I need to be aware off in the process?
Any additional parts i need to buy i order to do this?
Any previous experience or any information will be great
Cheers
Nick

Re: corsa engine change help
yo!
Isn't a x14xe a MPI injection system? and a x12sz a SPI?
If so you need to ideally change the whole Pump to a mpi, fuel lines, obv ECU/loom and I'm not sure on the compatibility of the shafts from the two gearboxes.
I think your sheel if it has a 1.2 8V is a type 1 shell, the x14xe usually comes in a type 2 shell iirc so you need to change mounts etc. Would be miles easier buying a sport 1.4 tbh but as you seem to have already started it :/ lol.
This information from me is a bit 50/50, I don't know that much but that's what I can think of.
be sure to upgrade the suspension and preferably better brakes, Ideally from a sport or a 2.0 . I have some sport calipers and pads if you want to buy them, all you need is discs. When you take the engine out, clean every bit of rust and treat it. The last thing you want it your corsa falling apart, I've seen corsas with weak subframes and engine bays fall off lol.
