XE14 No air temp reading for the ECU

Post by mhuk »

Hi,

I have a XE14 in my corsa B automatic. It's a good car and I use it to ferry my little girl around. I have a supercharged spitfire for the more exciting driving.
Problem is... The car had various vacuum leaks. The throttle body had a massive hole so I replaced it with some spare silicone hose.

Anyhow I left the battery off because the car still feels lumpy at idle and from time to time stalls at the lights. I noticed the coolant system is holding pressure even 24 hours later and it's leaking out slightly from the top front hose. I suspect the head gasket is on it's way out so another job.

I have a china clone ecu reading software which I connected to my Corsa and it says --- for the air temp reading. There is voltage which hardly changes. My mum also have a corsa B. It's a xe14sz which has no air temp sensor which I can find. The software is not showing anything relating to this sensor so I think I am correct.

Should my engine have a reading for the air temp in this software?

Could my EGR be valve be duff if it's not a air temp issue?

There are no error codes recorded.

Cheers

Martin
