Hey guys done the paperclip test earlier today and got the EML flashing 10 times then pause then 3 times pause 3 times again then pause and finnally 5 times before starting the process again am i right in diagnosing the fault as 0335 crankshaft sensor??? as i have been getting a pinging sound when i feather the accelarator quite noticable at 30MPH when i just feather the gas to keep the speed up this has been doing this since i got the car bout two year back its a corsa b 1.4 SOHC engine code x14sz tried all sorts of other things to rectify it like change spark plugs fuel filter checked for air leaks etc. only other thing i can think is the timing is out or what i am hoping is the crank sensor is faulty which is causing the pinking. (just like a metallic rattling sound also only happens when the car has warmed up) any you guys know if this could be the crankshaft sensor at fault the car has no problems when starting

Quick update emailed a dude from car mechanics mag in regards to this and he says the code for crankshaft sensor can flash when the timing belt is loose and also said this would likely cause a pinking sound once car is warm and im putting engine under load?? Anyone had anything similar? Dont really wanna mess bout with timing belt so hoping its craank sensor instead but read on so many forums that when a crank sensor goes dodgy the car will just not start my car runs perfect till i feather the accelarator when engine is warm then the pinking starts... Any help is much appreciated cheers.

Also worth mentionin when i did paperclip test the car engine was NOT running i only turned ignition on... When i tried the test with engine running the EML was flashing so fast i couldnt keep up haha. Also i have the 16 pin diagnostic plug

Right guys utterly convinced the problem is my timing is slightly out or my belt aint tensioned right as the pinking seems to have got slightly worse over last month or two. Anyway going to buy new belt etc my waterpump and stat was done two year ago so not sure if i should do whole lot or not. Anyways looking for tips on changing timing belt on corsa b 1.4 SOHC 8valve engine i know crankshaft and camshaft must be alligned to notches on back plate etc. What is the easiest way to remove and refit belt with correct tension as haynes goes in to a big speal bout it which seems a bit overkill ie buying tool from vauxhall to tension belt and that any help much appreciated guyss.
