Timing belt tensioner

Post by Paul666 »

Been changing timing belt on corsa b 1.4 sohc first off my timing was out the camshaft sprocket was a tooth in front so sorted that be removing belt and just pushing it a nudge back than i tried to turn tensioner clockwise to line up the holes that u jam someting in but the bolt just tightend up and tensioner did not budge ( im assuming this is a faulty tensioner)???? Anyway when tightning bolt up it sheared off:**( to my horror lol but eventually got it out so now i am going to have to get new tensioner and fit it back up can u buy a tensioner alone or ya have too buy whole kit.. And with regards to tensioning belt do you have to use special tool to turn waterpump or will something else work?? Thanks.

Micksgarage.co.uk sell the tensioners seperate used them before would recommed and it free postage not sure about waterpump but fairly sure its not a specal tool
If it doesn't fit,
force it,
If it breaks,
It needed replacing anyway
