X14XE block with c14se head ? will it work or not ?

hi there just been given a m reg corsa b and engine code is c14se the engine is nackered no.4 cylinder conrod snapped and smashed the sump in and destroyed the block will a X14XE block fit with the c14se head and other parts or not ? thanks regards kieran

I dout it will fit as the se head is single cam and the block is designed for a twin cam head, if it does fit i cant see it running tbh

I just cant imagine a 8v head running with a block designed for 16v head not with out alot of bother
they shouldnt look the same

The blocks are all the same, give or take things here and there.
The 8v head will fit but the compression will be higher if you use the x14xe pistons.

I dont think a single cam head will fit a block for double cams the bolt pattern has to be different

The 1.3/1.4/1.6 blocks all use the same design, except of course the newer corsa opc/vxr motors. They are similar to the z18xe and x18xe1 motors.
Funny enough the daewoo motors are also interchangable with the opel/vaux equivalent. My corsa 1.3 8v will be receiving a 16v head soon.
Go find a x14xe and c14se head gasket, you'll be pleasantly surprised.
