throttle return spring

i've just bought a 1999 1.2 16valve and she drives fine apart from the accelerator being quite hard to press....i know it sounds insignificant but it makes quick getaways that much more difficult.....there's a return spring on the pedal itself and one on the throttle body, so, as a trial, i took the pedal spring off completely and it then the pedal action was as light as any other car, but i didn't really want to leave it like this as its the wifes car.....
so, question, has anyone sourced a lighter spring for the pedal, or is it ok to leave off the pedal spring?

Always prefered the stiff throttle as think it seems like a better response so never looked into a lighter spring, leaving the spring out could mean the pedal could stay.on the floor, its unlikly but could happen

Hi and welcome buddy i agree with johnny but if you drive a different car it might feel different i had the same feeling when i bought mine but if ya are in doubt then sourcing a new spring could be the best idea :)
