Engine type

The owners manual says it's an X14NE... Posting a couple of snaps so you can help identify the UK equivalent.. That would help me greatly in ordering off fleabay..

C14NE? Wouldn't that make it an 8 valve then? The manual says it's a 16.. Also, didn't find the C14NE on the FAQ section?

Its definitly an 8v the 16v look like this
The c14ne isnt a popular engine, and if hadnt said ne id have said c14se,
The engine code will be stamped into the side of the block

Okay, will have a look-see On the engine block in the morning.. But since it doesn't look anything like the picture above, I'm inclined to go with your diagnosis. You've always been right, plus the owners manual could be just a common one for all models.. Wouldn't be the first time I saw that happen..

Manual says 88 bhp@6000. If that makes any sense....?
