Ok so the story goes like this...went I view a 2001 astra coupe bertone flame red 1.8.... Not the best looking few scratches down the sides and a few little issues... With one serious.. So.

No compression in cylinder 4
Back brakes were shot and dead
Pass aged front door seal shot
Leak in boot on drivers side by the light

So walked away from it. Now wings my mrs has kindly taken me off get insurance on the civic after some took out the mirror whiles on my way to work and didn't bother stopping I've been forces to find a car quick snap.. So I apologise for the following but it's only temporary for a hole utili I get a coupe... So with that said...

Here's my megane coupe fidji mk1 phase 2. I picked it up last Saturday really cheap...£250 off the forecourt in work, was owned by our chip tuning guys brother. He wanted rid of it so took it off his hands.

2001 Renualt Megane Fidji Coupe 1.6 16v, 106.000 miles.

It's been modified and has the following mods:

17" bk racing 333 alloys
Full demon body kit
Halo spot lights
M3 mirrors
Limo black tints all round
Lowered 30 mil

Bought it with 10 months MOT with no advisories on previous test, sadly the tax is out but no problem on getting it taxed.

Needs a few little jobs doing:

Hazard switch don't work
Passenger window switch don't work
Rear passenger window motor not working
Washer pump motor is blown
air intake pipe missing
Boot Matt and board missing
No spare tyre it's missing

So here she is...

I don't like the back bumper at all but I'm planing on having this done...been quoted £290 cat back

But first of all I've got a dead battery..car wouldn't start earlier so set of jump leads and fired up, let it run for 45 minutes turned it off, turned the key back and nothing... So hoping it's the battery.

When it ran for 45 mins I'd say it's the battery is dead

If the alternator was dead the battery that couldn't start the car wouldn't keep it running for 45 mins, if you had a multi meter it takes 30 seconds to figure it out, if the car is running the battery should read 14v if it's 12 or under its a dead alternator

Yeah my mates got one but need to get the car to his but should imagine workshop lads will have one.. Alternator is on offer on Euro car parts:

On shelf: £258.11
Sale at: £144.29
Discount 30%: £101.00

But a battery is:

On shelf: £68.34
Sale: £55.14
Discount: 41.35

See if work can get my one cheaper if it is because they know the boys from There as well beings we always order parts off them :).

So just been and bought a new battery from Euro Car Parts got it for £41 and a few pence, cars fired strait up but still cutting out hen I release the excelerator, so going To go put some fuel in see if that sorts it out as the light is on gauge is below red, don't know if it's a dodgy gauge or sensor though.

it's struggles for power and won't do anything while my foot is flat to the floor then it will rev up and go back to doing it again, then it will just go dead but will jump start after 2 mins or so with the leads on it.

I'd have no idea on that engine tbh all engines have common problems and I don't know them lol

But I looked at a 1.4 of these and I fell sorry for people that work on them, there's absolutely no room in the bay:lol:

Tested the alternator with a multimeter an not good news in afraid guys.

reading 5.30 volts with the engine on and running... Then it died.

So alternator obviously dead.. So stripped it off.
